Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These Terms govern your use of ShareLista, a shared household expense tracker and shopping list made by Asad Malik, an independent developer based in Pakistan ("I", "me"). By using ShareLista you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can use ShareLista
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU/EEA) to use the app. By using it you confirm you meet this requirement and can agree to these Terms. A parent may add a child to their household as a member; if you do, you're responsible for that choice (see the Privacy Policy, §10).
2. Your account and household
- You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.
- When you create or invite people to a household, you're responsible for who you share the invite with. Anyone with the current invite link or QR code can request to join, and a household Admin (or Money Holder) approves members.
- Admins can manage members, roles, invite codes, and household settings. Rotate the invite code from Settings if it has been shared too widely.
3. Your content
You own the content you enter — names, expenses, notes, lists, and so on. You grant me a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the app for you and your household members. I don't use it for anything else. You're responsible for the accuracy and legality of what you enter, and for not putting sensitive information about others (see the Privacy Policy) into shared fields.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse ShareLista, including by: breaking the law; infringing anyone's rights; attempting to access data of households you don't belong to; probing, scraping, or disrupting the service; or reverse-engineering it to build a competing product.
5. Money and balances — please read
ShareLista is a record-keeping tool, not a payment service, a bank, or a financial adviser. It does not move, hold, or process any money. All amounts, balances, "Money Holder" designations, and settle-ups are informational and based entirely on what members type in. I am not responsible for the accuracy of those entries, or for any financial dispute, loss, or arrangement between household members. Settle real balances between yourselves, outside the app.
6. Availability
The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. I may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and I don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. It's free, and offered in good faith.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. I will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for any loss of data or financial loss, arising from your use of the app. My total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid to use ShareLista — which, for the free app, is zero.
8. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time — see how to delete your account. I may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.
9. Changes to these Terms
I may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date here, and where appropriate announced in the app. Continuing to use ShareLista after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the courts of Pakistan — except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you rights that can't be waived.
